Supervisors added County Administrator John McCarthy to the board about two years ago and added three new members last summer, bringing the membership to nine.
The proposed by-laws called for a nine-member board.
Mrs. Jamieson suggested this be amended to read “not less than five and not more than nine. That’s in harmony with Virginia state requirements. There might be a time someone leaves the board and we were not able to find someone who would benefit the board. If we felt the position should not be promptly filled we could advise the supervisors not to fill it.”'
