Baseball, softball registration
The Rappahannock Athletic Association (RAA) will hold baseball registration for children five years old by Dec. 31, 1992 and not over 18 by Aug. 1 and girls softball ages seven-15 years old will be held from 10a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 13, 20, and 27. The locations will be at the Flint Hill fire hall, Rappahannock High School and Amissville fire hall. Cost is $25 for first child, $20 for second child and $15 for each family member thereafter. Fees and birth certificate required at time of registration. Due to league growth, you must register on one of these dates. Draft date to be announced at registration. Scouts taking cookie orders
The Rappahannock Girl Scouts of the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council will begin taking orders for Girl Scout cookies on Friday, Jan. 22.
Overeaters meeting
A weekly 12-step meeting of Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday’s at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. Newcomers always welcome. For more information call 675-3716.
Support group to meet

Science Fair underway
The public is invited to visit the Rappahannock Science Fair from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 17 or during the day Thursday Feb. 18.
CSC Transit will not operate
CSC Transit will not operate on Monday, Feb. 15, in observance of George Washington’s Birthday. CSC Transit is a program of the Rappahannoek-Rapidan Community Services Board.
Vocational Education week set
The Piedmont Technical Education Center is observing Vocational Education Week Feb. 16-19.
Mr. John Bodine, Principal, extends a cordial invitation to the public to visit the school on Route 15 and observe vocational educational students preparing for the world of work. Each day .of that week, Tuesday through Friday, the local VICA chapter (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) students will competing in skill and leadership contests on a local level.
The skill contests range from Automotive Mechanics to Welding; the leadership contests include Job Interview, Prepared Speech, Poster, Spelling to name a few. If you would like to observe a particular contest, please call the school at 825-0476 and you will be advised of the date and the time. The winners of the local VICA contests will compete in the VICA District X Contests on March 27. Piedmont will be hosting District X Contests this year.
