If you allow me these assumptions, is this not almost the Twentyfirst Century, the world a much different place; and might we not need to look at this differently?

Somehow all this will get resolved. I hope that when it does the focus of the solution is the future, my kids, your kids, your grandchildren; everyone’s neighbors. They are going to need our help, just as many people you and I never met helped us get through yesterdays problems to get here.

My fear is that if we meurly try to maintain we will regret that we will not have left ourselves enough.

To the Editor:

My husband and I strongly support the funding and construction of a middle school for Rappahannock County. We feel this is the best solution to the overcrowding that already is beginning to interfere with the quality education wewant for all our students.

Adding temporary or permanent classrooms to the existing two schools is only a “band-aid” approach which would usurp needed playground space and would be much more costly in the long run.

We feel that middle school-aged children have their own special needs. Building a middle school would best serve their needs as well as those of their younger and older schoolmates.

Let’s secure financing, buy the land, and begin construction now while interest rates are low. We know that costs are not going to decrease in the future.

We also know that Rappahannock County will continue to grow and to attract young families. Let’s be ready for the future and not find
