Since that provision is not retroactive, it means that current members can serve two additional threeyear terms. All the members approved these changes.
The board agreed that the terms should end in December and new members would come on the board starting in January. At the March meeting members will “draw straws” to determine which terms end this December, which December 1994 and which December 1995.
The by-laws provide for standing committees for finance, policy and planning, personnel, and building and grounds. The members of the committees would be appointed each year in January. The committees would have between three and five members and could include people who are not library board members as non-voting committee members.
