Ginger Spiker, program manager of the restoration group discussed a relatively new' line of work at Shenandoah: in-house restoration.
“All restoration work used to be accomplished at the site,’’she said, “and much of it still is, but there are projects that because of their size, intricacy or proximity lend themselves to off-site work. It’s expensive but often it’s the only wray to get the job done. And, of course, our people here like it because they’re out of the weather and can really concentrate on the subject.”
New window design and fabrication is no less detailed, though matching colors is seldom a problem, said Marti Jones, program manager for new windows.
"The new' window' process begins with a consultation,” said Jones. “From there we create a window design specifying layout, art and color. Once the customer has approved the design, that’s when the fun really begins.”
