Stronger game laws
An interesting change in the game laws is now wending its way through the General Assembly in Richmond. The bill would make a small but significant change in the laws relating to hunting from a vehicle.
The proposed legislation would move the restrictions on hunting from a vehicle from one part of the code to another. The result is to stiffen the penalties for the driver and all passengers.
If House Bill 1288 becomes law, those caught hunting from the road would be subject to forfeiture of the vehicle and weapons as well as harsher fines.
The move will put teeth into a law long ignored by the slobs who drivedown our back roads during the hunting season looking for something, anything to shoot. We need this change in the game laws.
