Rich in Calcium

The calcium in yogurt may stand out as one of yogurt’s greatest contributions to the American diet. As many as tw'o-thirds of Americans (93 percent of adolescent girls and 85 percent of women) fail to consume recommended amounts of calcium. Yet 20 to 50 percent of the adult Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for calcium is supplied by just one six- to eight-ounce serving of yogurt.

While many believe and adequate calcium intake is important only in childhood, it is actually vital throughout life.
