The Schreibers, like many of the performers, live in a mobile home of their own when on the road. In winter they live in Gibsonton, Fla, where they put on a trained rabbit act and dog and pony revue for tourists.
Chris thinks that traveling with a circus is a great life for a family. “We teach Daniel ourselves,” she said. "He attends regular school in winter, and is doing well.” She added that if they felt Daniel was not keeping up in school, “we would have to find another solution.”

Chris yawned, and excused herself. “Afternoons are nap time for circus folk,” she said. “We got up in Gaithersburg (Md.) at 4 a.m. this morning - an hour earlier than usual to avoid the Washington traffic.”
And tomorrow? Tomorrow they play in Shenandoah. At 5 a.m. tomorrow ^morning, before the shine
rises, tjle big trucks, vehicles and trailers full of animals, equipment and people will head west on U.S. 211 grinding up the long curvy hill to Thornton Gap, past Luray and on and on to the next stop.
