Angela Gail Smith and Fredrik Nelson Santinga were united in marriage at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 at the Culpeper United Methodist Church.
The Rev. James Taylor performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald L. Smith of Reva. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lillard of Nethers and Mr. and Mrs. Hushel Smith of Criglersville.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Santinga of Brandy Station. He is the grandson of Mr. Fred Smith of Cedarville, Mich, and Mrs. Virginia Smith of McBain, Mich, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Santinga of Kalamazoo, Mich.
The bride, escorted by her father, and given in marriage by her parents, wore a gown of white satin with gossamer ruffles. The bouffant ruffled tiers highlighted the shoulders of the long fitted sleeves and the cathedral length train. Pearls and sequins complemented the sweetheart neckline and the basquewaisted bodice. Strands of pearls drapped softly from the oval-back neckline. The bride’s headpiece was accented with sequins and pearls and ended with a pearl trimmed veil. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of bridal pink roses and ivy.
Farrah Lynn Smith of Reva, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Shannon DiiBon, Laura Dunford, and Ginny Walker all of Culpeper and friends of the bride, Amy Santinga of Philadelphia, Pa. sister of the groom, and Jeri Sue Slonaker of Richmond, friend of the bride. All attendants were attired in gowns of sea-foam satin with scalloped, portrait collars.
Philip Santinga, father of the groom, served as best man.
