President Helen Brown conducted the business portion of the meeting. A request of gifts of bulbs to be used in Virginia’s Highway Beautification Program was relayed to the group which responds annually to this reminder of what to do with extra bulbs as garden plantings are thinned.
A new program of buying in bulk certain materials used for floral ar-» rangements and making them available to club members was initiated this month and received a very welcome response.
The theme for artistic arrangements this month was “Beauty of Simplicity” and the blue ribbon was awarded to Helen Brown, while red and yellow ribbons went to Dottie Hooff and Dot Estes.
