Coach van ; de-Graaff said, “I think that all four ' runners on our team have a good chance of continuing on to the state _cross country meet. They should be real proud.”

Although the girls’ basketball teams finished the week with two more losses, Coach Gary Leake was encouraged by their play. “We are on a six quarter roll; the girls have been playing extremely well,” according to Coach Gary Leake of the Lady Panthers basketball team. Even though Rappahannock lost both games last week, the quality of play was very impressive, he said. -«• In the game against Stonewall Jackson on October 21, Rappahannock played its “best defensive game of the year,” Coach Leake said. Stonewall Jackson averages 70 points a game, and has lost only one _game all season, but they beat the Panthers with only 59 points to Rap"pahannock’s 28.
