The October meeting of the Rappahannock County Garden Club featured a program by Donna Brune of Flint Hill.
Donna is a certified Nurseryman and a Floral Designer whose subject for the Garden Club combined her two interests into an illustrated discussion of “Landscaping For Flower Arrangements.” She brought examples of some of the shrubs she recommended for home gardens and pointed out the potential each has for enhancing flower arrangements. Club members were challenged to identify some of the shrub specimans she displayed. A number of slides were shown as examples of current trends in garden design. Donna also gave members a list of some of her favorite garden books.
Following the program President Helen Brown conducted the business portion of the meeting. Membership Chairman Breezy Gannon, presented the names of Jinnie Raney, Mary Mochary, Sandra Anderson, and Beth DeBergh for Garden Club membership. All four were accepted and welcomed by Club members.
Adopt-A-Highway Chairman Marcia Doelman urged everyone to help clean up the Club’s two mile stretch of Rt. 231 as part pf VDOT program.
