Edward Hamilton Peyton, 85, of Amissville, died on Thursday, Oct. 21 at his residence. r' Born in Rappahannock County, he was the husband of Virgie Whortqn Peyton and the son of the late Amon and Daisy Tharpe Peyton. ‘ ‘ He is also survived by two sons, Gfeorge Hamilton Peyton and James Richard Peyton, both of Amissville; six daughters, Cathy Blevins of Warrenton, Shirley Compton of Aiiiissville, Anna Compton and Virginia Stringfellow both of Sperryville; Margie Sheffield of Viewtown and Ethel Peyton of San Antonio, Tx.; one sister, Ethel Johnson of Jackson, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, v ‘Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper with the R^v. L.D. Savage officiating.

Interment was in Hillcrest Memory Gardens near Jeffersonton. .. Pallbearers were Jack Compton, Wayne Chapman, Kevin Sanford, Paul Trollinger, Ronny Parker, Elmer Parker, Andy Sheffield and * George Peyton Jr. * Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in i Culpeper was in charge of the art rangements.

Post of Culpeper and the * Eagles Club of Brunswick, Md. * His parents were the late Mere« dith E. and Gertrude Royston. * . Surviviors include his wife, Edna * Lillard Royston of Leesburg; three »sons, John Anthony Royston of '-Charlottesville, Todd Lawrence of * Warrenton, Robert Lawrence of Richmond; three grandchildren; one hrpther, M.E. (Red) Royston Jr. of »- Winchester; and one sister, Patricia IR. Allen on Winchester.
