Our local delegate race has drawn a lot of attention this year. Del. Jerry Wood is a “go along to get along” type of guy. Last year in an interview in this paper he stated that Gov. Wilder pressured him into introducing a bill that he later voted against. If this makes any sense to the readers then we should return him to office. 1 believe the readers know differently. We are tired of business as usual in Richmond and Washington. Del. Wood is on record for what he says and his votes. There is no place to hide.
Jay Katzen has a record of public service in his community and abroad. His tireless campaign planner will only intensify as our delegate, and he will be in a very good position with George Allen as Governor to send our tax money back home.
In closing, I would like to thank the editorial staff of Rappahannock News for the opportunity to address these points. However, if the News had not even made these endorsements, this would have suited readers just fine. There hasn’t been enough information on the candidates published in this paper, and both candidates for governor, Beyer, and Jim Gilmore were totally ignored. Your paper would fit our needs more by printing the facts and letting us make the decisions.
