Next Tom Zumwalt applied for a sign for his “Faux Fum” decorative painting business to be located in the portion of the building at the corner of Gay and Porter streets that most recently held a showroom for Tom Von Fange’s furniture.
That application was approved also with the stipulation that Mr. Zumwalt would have to submit paint chips. Mr. Zumwalt said his sign would use samples of his painting, such as marbelizing and wood-grain. The question of how samples of that could be submitted as paint chips was left unresolved.
Finally ARB members consulted with Mr. Ethells, who told them he had not made changes in his plans since his most recent application. Mr. Ethells is building a house on Piedmont Ave. using heavy oak timbers. He is required to return to the ARB for approval of his plans for doors and windows.
