Corps volunteer. She was a founding member of a wilderness school for teenage women and spent seven months studying herbs and wildflowers in County Clare, Ireland. She is an honors graduate of the Physician Assistant Program at Hahnemann. Medical College in Philadelphia.

Ms. Maier has practiced traditional healing arts for over 10 years. She is a member of the Advisory Board for the National Istitute of Health and the National Wellness Coalition and has testified before Congressional committees on the values of herbal medicine. She advoctaes the use of herbs as a regular part of diet and as an essential food to improve nutrition.

Although Kathleen Maier was born in Pennsylvania, she is now the “delighted owner and caretaker of 5.29 acres of wooded paradise in Rappahannock County” and has decided that this is where she belongs.
