Mrs. Dale Metzinger, Registrar, reported that there are as of now, ,97 active members plus 8 associate members. Two prospective members were voted in and introduced to the group.
Constitution Week, Sept. 17-23, was celebrated with newpaper articles and posters, thanks to .the chairmanship of Mrs. John Cheatwood.
At the District VI meeting in Charlottesville Sept. 17 two chapter members served as Pages - Mrs. John Cheatwood and Mrs. E. Eugene Ryan. ~ '
In the Culpeper Court House, one of the old record books if badly in need of repair and this book is scheduled for preservation in 1994 at an approximate cost of $2000, according to Mrs. Bradshow, state chairman of Preservation of Records.
The next meeting, Nov. 9 is the annual National Defense luncheon at Graves Mountain Lodge with Dr. Edgar Francis Puryear, Jr. as the speaker, his topic to be “The United States Military at the End of the Cold War.” Reservations at $13 per person must be made with Mrs. Albert Lambert by Nov. 2. '
