ney plans to construct a visitor center on the Disney’s America property promoting area attractions. Construction of the park, if approved, would probably begin during the last quarter of 1995, he said.
Disney vendor packets were handed out to several people at the meeting who were in-, terested. Mr. Pender said that 70 percent of vendors will probably come from witfun a 100mile radius of the park.
Rob Sherwood asked Mr. Pender if there was a concern about getting water to the area. Mr. Pender replied that the plant was being expanded to handle more.
Another question put to Mr. Pender was “Is there any assurance that it will not become bigger than it appears it will be?” Mr. Pender replied that Disney is not interested in buying any more land. He said that the land purchased will be enough on which to construct a 104-acre park and allow plenty of land for buffers.
Responding to other questions from the audience, Mr. Pender said that there are 16,000 parking spaces planned, and that he did not know yet what the daily ticket price would be, but that it would be a flat rate good for the entire day.
