Wilson proclaimed that date as National Flag Day.
The Registrar, Mrs. Dale Metzinger, presented the names of four persons for membership and all were voted in.
Events of the Continental Congress in April were reported on by the delegate, Mrs. Egar F. Puryear, Jr. A big item on the agenda is the renovation of Constitution Hall which will cost $2,344,924 and which will begin as soon as the last high school graduation is held in June at which time the Hall will be closed. Of interest is that the oldest DAR member will be 109 in September and that there are 194,625 active members in the Society. With the Society running on a deficit budget, delegates to the Congress voted to raise the dues. Chapter dues consequently were also raised.
Mrs. Jane Kearns announced that the three volume set of the DAR Patriot Index had been purchased and donated to the Culpeper Public Library.
It was announced that the District VI fall meeting will be on Sept. 16 with the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter co-hosting it with the Montpelier Chapter, and with Mrs. Edgar F. Puryear, Jr. as Chairman.
