The Lion King didn’t make an appearance but his Pride was well represented.
About 60 Lions, Lionesses and a variety of Lion Cubs of all ages gathered at the Rappahannock Recreational Park on July 13th to enjoy their annual feast day. Fortunately, Lions were the only local species attracted to the irresistible scent of grilling hot dogs, chicken breasts, and tasty baked beans.
Every July the Rappahannock Lions Club invites members, families and friends to a special picnic meeting to officially observe the changing of the guard when the new officers and directors are installed for the coming year. This year even the weather blessed the event. It was one of the rare days when the Tstorms only threatened.
