The annual members picnic of th$ Rappahannock Historical Society will be held at the home of Sam and Wanda Snead in Gid Brown Hollow on Friday, Aug. 5. !
The home, a portion of which i$ an 100 year old log cabin, was th$ boyhood home of Judge Raynor Snead. <
There will be a 5:30 to 6 p.m. soirial and dinner will be at six. Those members coming should remember to bring a picnic supper to share, chairs or blankets for sitting, ana bug spray for gnats. Set-ups, coffee^ ice tea, paper plates, and cups wilj be provided by the Society. ’
Judge Snead will be the featured speaker. He will review his boot “Hollow Boy” which relates his childhood in this house and will autof graph your copies if you bring thert with you. j
The public is reminded that the picnic is open only to paid up memibers of the Rappahannock Historical Society and their summer house guests. You can of course, pay your dues at the picnic.
Society President, Captain Howlard Holschuh invites all who can to attend this picnic. The house is situ1ated on a grassy knoll between Pick*erel Ridge and Pinenut Mountain, il is still a working farm.
