The ladies of the Culpeper United Methodist Church will be spon- ; soring a Christmas Craft Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, ' Nov. 12. The bazaar will be held in the United Methodist Church’s ! Fellowship Hall located on Oaklawn Drive. 1

Craft tables are available to rent for $20 each. All tables are Hoing ; reserved on a first come first serve basis. To reserve a table, please contact Mary Lou Phillips at 825-0108. Be prepared to provide name, ■ address, telephone, number,of tables needed, type of craft (s) and special set-up needs.

Viewtown Day Planned

A community yard sale will be held in Viewtown from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 at the store. The band, Riverbottom will perform at 4 p.m. For more information call 937-3249.

Puppet Program To End Series

The Rappahannock County Library’s Summer Reading Program, ‘ “Reading is a Magic Trip,” will end with a 7 p.m. program on Aug. 3. ; The ever popular Puppets by Pizzazz will present “Puppet Magic.” ' Certificates of participation and the grand prizes will be awarded at i the end of the puppet show. Free Vision Screening Set

Dr. Russell Brear and Dr. Darin Bowers will offer free preschool1 vision screens for children at Commonwealth Eye Center from 9 a.m. ! to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. “We will look for lazy eyes and other ! eye conditions that affect young children’s health and school perfor-1 mance,” explained Dr. Brear. “It is important to be sure that your | children’s vision will not bold them back in school.” >

The screen especially targets three to five-year-olds who are! en- ; tering school, but children of any ages will be examined. '

Summer Art Escape

1 The Great Summer Art Escape, sponsored by Middle Street Gallery, will be holding two weeks of classes: Aug. L5, 9:00-11:30, “Shap-1 ing and Sculpting” with Jeanne Drevas and Nina Moore, exploring; clay and handmade paper and Aug. 15-19, 9:00-11:30, “Drawing and < Painting Fun” with Laurie Marshall; creating flip-it books, comic book ! and story illustration, and mural painting. Ages 6-12 are invited to participate. Classes take place at the REC center and cost $40 with J materials included and scholarships available. The American Cancer Society is sponsoring the fourth annual' Mountain Run Lake-Biathlon in Culpeper at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug.! 14. i

The event takes place on the gently rolling paved roads surround-1 ing the park. The race is a biathlon consisting of a 4.1 mile run, 18.2; mile bike and ending with a 1 mile run. This year the race can be en- > tered individually, or as a member of a team that consists of one run-! ner and one biker. ;
