Rappahannock County will soon have a part-time eye doctor.
Andrew L. Stone, an optometrist, will have office hours in the Rappahannock Medical Center starting Monday, October 24.
Dr. Stone said he will do routine eye exams for glasses and contact lenses, treat minor eye infections, do cateract and glaucoma treatment and screening and check children’s vision. '
He said he will provide contact lenses but has not decided whether to sell glasses or merely write prescriptions. He said that will depend on the demand.
He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the Massachusetts College of Optometry. He currently has a three-day-a-week practice in Manassas and has been practicing out of his home in Hume the other two days. He said he will give up that home practice.
Dr. Stone’s wife teaches at the Bradley Elementery School in Fauquier County, and they have three children attending Fauquier County Schools. They are members of St. John’s Church in Warrenton.
