Revival Set
The Forest Grove Baptist Church located in Viewtown will' hold its annual series of revival services beginning on Sunday, Oct. 9 and concluding on Wednesday, Oct. 12. ’ All revival services are scheduled to * begin at 7:30 p.m.
The guest spaeker for Forest ’ Grove’s 1994 revival will be Dr. R. - Wertenbaker Turner, Jr., who has ; served since December, 1987, as the' pastor of the Beth Car Baptist' Church in Madison. Both the Beth Car and Forest Grove congregations. are offiliated with the Shiloh Baptist Association.
Dr. Turner has also served as an" interim minister to two other church in the Shiloh Association, the Alum Spring Baptist Church of Culpeper and the Rapidan Baptist Church" of Wolftown.
From 1981 until 1986, he was, pastor of the Mooreland Baptist in the Albemarle Baptist Association." In addition to his pastoral duties at"’ Beth Car, Dr. Turner currently serves as a chaplein in the United' States Navai Reserve. _ ^ „
Dr. Turner is a native of Newport News. He is a graduate of t}ie£' Univeristy of Richmond and holds-a* Mastor of Divenity and a Doctor of Ministry degree, both from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminery, Wake Forest, N.C. ^
Prior to entering the ministry, he worked for the U.S. Treasury Department as a bank examiner. Fronv 1969 through 1971 he was on active, duty with the United States Navy. In 1979, he was on the staff of the First Baptist Church, Greensboro,; N.C., as a pastoral intern.
Dr. Turner currently resides in Charlottesville with his wife, Ann,; their son and two daughters.
