The next basketball games will be held at Central on Oct. 6, and the next home games will be next Tuesday night against Manassas Park.

Eddie Sause beat out Mark Jenkins in the last two cross-country meets. Mark usually finishes first for the boys’ team. Eddie’s time was 17:15 to Mark’s 17:38 in the meet held on Sept. 28. In an invitational meet held at Woodberry Forest last Saturday, Eddie’s ran the course in 19:00 to Mark’s 19:26.

In a meet with Central, Page, Strasburg and George Mason last Wednesday, RCHS finished third with 84 points. In the first meet, Jason Brown finished 25th, Mike Wolfe 26th; Jeff Atkins 28th; R.J. White 30th; Chris Dennis 31st; and Toshio Korenaga 35th.

Holly Gangel has been ill and unable to run in the last two meets. Junior varsity runner Jessica Gheen finished 7th overall with a time of 23:07; and Carolina Baumgardner finished at 23:09.

At Woodberry, Wolfe ran the course in 21:26; Jeff Atkins at 21:46; R.J. White at 21:50; and Ray Atkins at 21:56. ,

Jessica Gheen finished second overall for the girls, with a time of 25:31.

The next cross-country meet will be held at Clarke County on Oct. 5. The next home meet will be on Oct. 19 at Bleu Rock beginning at 5 p.m.
