Russell races on television during the International Horse Show.

These dogs are always entertaining, and always full of energy. If not running around and rooting in holes, jumping over fences, or keeping up with the horses, they may be playing soccer, like the McNears’ dog, Kita. She can move that ball, which is bigger than her, up and down hills, around in circles, all day long, with the sort of talent and speed one would expect from a human soccer player.

T.J., a one-year old Jack Russell owned by Ann and Wayne Brown in Woodville, entertains her family by taking hold of the end of the toilet paper roll and running around the house until the whole roll is unravelled.

“They are great buddies,” said Mrs. Caldwell.
