Havura Ktana accounced recently that its October program will be a talk by Rabbi Carla Theodore entitled “Contending With the Ba- 1 sics of Judaism.”

The program will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16 in a private home in Culpeper. Anyone who would like to come should phone Karen 948-4617 or Paula 349-B473 for directions.

Carla Theodore is a local poet', and social acativist who was ordained as a Rabbi two years ago. As , many American Jews, she had been brought up wihtout any knowledge of the Jewish tradition. In her tEdk she will be sharing part of her personal journey during which, as a senior citizen, she encountered the basics of Judaism for the first time.

The program is sponsored by Havura Ktana which is a smaU friendship circle of Jews and their friends who are interested in strengthening or exploring their relationship to Judaism. 1
