Their game against George Mason, probably the toughest team in the district, did not have such a happy ending. RCHS was defeated 48-18. Coach Wingate said there were a huge number of turnovers which were converted to points by George Mason. Top scorer was Dawn Havstad with 12 points.
The varsity also had a tough time with George Mason, losing 66-28. High scorers were Janet Hitt with 10; Patty Atkins with seven; and Angie Atkins and Susan Jewell each had four. 1
