Scott McBride of Sperryville will tell the story of the Hawkins family of builders at the Rappahannock Historical Society’s regular quarterly meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Rappahannock County Library.
Mr. McBride, a craftsman and builder himself, will talk particularly about Charlie Hawkins, who built many of the fine homes in Rappahannock County.
He painstakingly gathered his material for this lecture from members of the Hawkins family who still practice this trade, and by touring the Hawkins houses.
