George Bain, Jr.
George William Bain, Jr., 82, of Washington died on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at the Hospice of the Piedmont in the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
He was born Feb. 14. 1912, in Washington to the late George William Bain, Sr. and Ethel Emms Bain.
Mr. Bain was a longtime resident of Washington in Rappahannock County.
He was a plumbing and electric parts and supplies merchandising specialist, was employed with Eck Supply Company in Manassas and was previously employed with Noland Company in Arlington.
Mr. Bain was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Washington
Mr. Bain is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Stuart Bain; two sons, John T. Bain and Stephen A. Bain, both of Richmond, Indiana; three step-children, Rosalee M. Dunston of Washington, Illinois, James C. May of Peoria, Illinois and Carolyn M. Griffey of Manassas; one sister, Mary Ayres of Richmond and nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, Jan. 28 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Washington with Father Albert Verbeke officiating.
Interment followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery' in Richmond.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1290 Seminole Road, Charlottesville, Va. 22902.
Found & Sons Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
