Last Wednesday Wakefield County Day School at Huntly hosted Wakefield (Marshall) in basketball and enjoyed a clean sweep of decisive victories in each of the three games.
Enthusiastic crowds for both teams watched the WCDS Owls lv Boys team quell and then extinguish the effort made by the Marshall team. Guided by Andrew Inglis’ 10 points, Tim Burke’s 7 and Peter Hickson’s 6 and three other scorers, all of the Owls contributed to a resounding 2819 victory.
The Boys Varsity Owls drove the Marshall team into a 51-36 defeat. The WCDS Owls jumped out to a 162 first quarter lead and led 24-12 at the end of the first half. The Owls extended their lead in the third quarter and sped past the Wakefield (Marshall) tearp for the final victory. The Marshall t&a’m, led by Jody Waldron’s 11 points, played well, but
