In National Velvet, a 1945 movie based on the book by Enid Bagnold, a teen-aged Elizabeth Taylor stars as a girl who dreams of riding her horse in the Grand National Steeplechase. Mickey Rooney also stars as the former steeplechase jockey who helps her achieve her dream.. Angela Lansbury has a less significant role as Velvet’s older sister.
National Velvet will be shown at 7 p.m.
Tickets to either movie will be sold at $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Tickets can also be purchased for both movies for $9 for adults and $5 for children.
