Rep. Wolf has also sent a letter to President Clinton seeking to bring to an end the “brutal conflict in Chechnya.”
He suggested President Clinton send former President George Bush or former Secretary of State James Baker to meet with Russian President Yeltsin and other Russian leaders.
He said the U.S. position is that this is an internal Russian affair, but the American people want the fighting to end, and members of Congress are reconsidering Russian aid.
