in tne game against Brentsville last Friday, Coach Baltimore said that they played well for three quarters, but Brentsville blitzed them in the second quarter. He said Brentsville played aggressive defense and that Rappahannock made a lot of mental mistakes. Brentsville won 72-54.
There are five games left in the season and Coach Baltimore said he believes his team will make it to the district tournament. He said, “Coaching is not always cookies and cream, it is not always a success. I feel confident but it will take time.”
Due mostly to a lot of sickness on the teams, both RCHS volleyball teams lost their two games last week, however, the junior varsity fared better in their games against Strasburg and Central. The JV lost to Strasburg 11-15, 15-6 and 2-15. Central beat them 15-6 and 15-10.
JV coach Liz Hollie said that her team looked strong against Strasburg. Against Central, she said, “We had moments of brilliance there too but could not win.”
The varsity volleyball team fell to Strasburg 5-15 and 6-15, and to Central 5-15 and 2-15. Coach Laura Conklin said that everyone has been sick on the team lately.Of the game
