One of the founding members, Dot Mank, will be moving away from Rappahannock within the next few months. She and her husband Sid have been instrumental in promoting the Loan Closet and he has been the main handyman for the group.
Not only will the group need a new handyman, Mrs. Mank and others feel that they need a new building to store everything. Right now everything is stored in a building next to Spring Mountain School on Mt. Salem Avenue in Washington. Its use is donated by Mr. Carrigan, and it used to be a coal house when the school was known as Washington High School. Mrs. ■ Williams that use for the building when she attended the school.
The building has wood borers in the ceiling and Mrs. Mank is afraid that it will come down in the first big snowstorm, falling in on all the equipment. Also, she says, the building has no electricity or heat, The Closet hopes to either build a new structure, at least 18 ft. by 18 ft., possibly on donated land, or have a present structure donated for the equipment. '*We need a place fiat on the ground, without stairs,”
