The Cristofori Trio is part of the Washington Cristofori Ensemble which was formed in 1994 by Martin Berkofsky, its artistic director, and is resident at The Theatre at Washington. Professional musicians who are both seasoned ensemble performers and distinguished soloists make up its core. The ensemble plans, on occasion, to invite exceptionally gifted young musicians to join as guest performers.
The trio comprises Martin Berkofsky, Judith Spokes, violin, and Kang Xia, violoncello. One Feb. 19, the program will include the Mozart trios for piano, violin, and violoncello in C major, K. 548, in E major, K. 542 and in B flat major, K. 502. In addition, the program will include music of Mozart for four hands, in which Berkofsky will be joined by the 16-year old pianist, J.D. Williams.

Stairs Hike
Planned
On Saturday, Feb. 25 the Ragged Mountain Resource Center will sponsor the second hike in its Community Hiking series, this one to the Big Devil’s Stairs area via the Harris Hollow Trail.
Interested participants should meet at the county park ready to depart at 10 a.m. and should bring adequate footgear and layered clothing, and a small pack with lunch or snack food. Tree and bird identification books and binoculars are optional.
