The Amissville Ruritan Club was pleased to have Robert “Bob” Darby of Woodville address the Club on Jan. 19 on “Habitat for Humanity.” Mr. Darby is a volunteer working as the Rappahannock Projects Coordinator, under the auspices of Fauquier Habitat for Humanity.
Mr. Darby explained how volunteers help build homes for many who would otherwise not be able to own a home. The new owners pay one percent down and are given a 20-year, interested-free loan. They also must donate 500 hours of labor toward the home. The labor can be donated by a family member or church friend.
