RAA Activities Planned An RAA Coaches Meeting will be held at Rappahannock County Library at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 16. RAA baseball sign-up will take place on Saturdays, Feb. 18 and 25 from 9 to -1 at Stuart Field in Amissville (Ruritan Building) and 10 to 1 at the Rappahannock County Library. Birth certificate and registration fee are due at time of sign-up. Fees are: $30 for first child, $25 for second child and $15 each for three or more children. For T-Ball (ages 5 to 7), the child should have reached the age of 5 by Dec. 31, 1994. It’s time to start thinking about RAA sponsors. More details will follow. Movie on Friday The movie, Out of Ireland, will be shown at The Theatre in Washington at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 3. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
Volleyball Tournament Set The Rappahannock County Drug Free Schools/Community Team is sponsoring a single elimination volleyball tournament on March 25. There is no entry fee. Each team of 8-10 players must be co-ed and include at least two students in grades 4-12. There will be a total of twelve teams. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded. Refreshments will be sold by SADD, Students Against Drunk Driving. To sign up a team or for further information, contact Joyce Brown or David VaMe Graaff at RCHS, 987-8575.
Camp and Training To Be Held The District Winter 4-H Cloverbud Camp will be held March 24-26 at the Northern Virginia 4-H Education Center. The committee is seeking adults and teens for volunteers. Youth must be 5-8 years of age as of Jan. 1, 1995. The cost is $37, and applications are due tot he 4-H Center Feb. 24. The date for the 4-H Camp Counselor training is scheduled for March 3-4 at the 4-H Center. Any teen, ages 14-18 as of Jan. 1, 1995, who' would like to participate as a teen leader at camp is encouraged to goTwo training tracks will be offered this year — one for teens and adults who will be first — year counselors and the resource tract for teens and adults vvho have been counselors two or more years. Registration forms and information on both of these 4-H events are available from the Extension Office at 675-3619.
RAAC Fundraiser A chili party will be held from 5-8 p.m. on March 3 at the Clopton House, Eileen Day Realtors. Prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and children under five are free. Proceeds to promote July 4.
Amissville Homemakers Meeting The Amissville Homemakers featuring “Use of Bread Machines,” scheduled for Feb. 6, was postponed due to snow. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20 in the Amissville Baptist Church. For more information call club president, Iva Lam at 937-4550.
