The January meeting of the Rappahannock County Garden Club was focused on Spring.
Now just Spring, but a Spring Flower Show which the club is planning to stage in May. Various committees are at work planning the event under the guidance of Carol Miller and Celine Siira, the co-chairmen for the show. Helen (Mrs. David) Smith and Betty Smith have been busy making up the schedule for the show and expect to have it printed and available to prospective exhibitors very soon. Participation is not limited to garden club members but is open to all, so arrangers and those with a specimen of merit might wish to exhibit.
Since space is a limiting factor, reservations must be made well in advance of the show. Anyone who is interested should check the scheduled which will be in the library vestibule with full information about all exhibits. -
For the January program, club members saw two films about show exhibiting which provided much helpful information. This was followed by a talk on the Basics of Exhibiting Horticulture Specimens given by club member Florence Nordone. Celine Siira then spoke about artistic design in a flower show. Both speakers stressed the importance of following
