Kindergarten, I wanted to continued to be involved in his education. Since I knew some of the teachers and had talked to various friends, I was aware of the excellent Kindergarten staff at RCES. My concern was that Jesse be where it would be most beneficial to him as an individual. I made an appointment with Raye Tupper, the assistant principal, and she was most helpful in talking to me about my concerns.
I observed Marti Cannon’s class and was impressed with what I sa\V Jesse was placed in her class. He has not only mastered many new skills this year, but is beginning to understand that he can relax and “enjoy” learning. He looks forward to going to school and comes home every day excited about what he had done. Mrs. Cannon has always been willing to listen and to give suggestions as to what 1 can do as a parent to help and encouraged my child to learn and grow.
Mrs. Cannon is not the exception. I’ve had contact with other Kindergarten teachers, and I’m sure the parents who work with them would agree that we have some fine teachers in our public school. But I do want to give credit where it is due. Mrs. Cannon is a wonderful teacher, and I want to thank her for all the times she’s gone “above and beyond” for my child.
