1988 Ford pickup, hit a 1990 Subaru station wagon driven by Tyler M. Townsend, 24, of Vida, Oregon, when they met at a sharp curve on Route 630. Mr. Ramey was eastbound and Ms. Townsend was westbound.. Neither was charged in the accident which was investigated by State Trooper Sean Knick. Both drivers .received minor injuries but did not require a trip to the hospital. Mr. Ramey’s truck sustained $800 damage and Ms. Townsend’s station wagon had $4,500 damage.
A 1985 Nissan pickup owned by Billy Breeden of Luray was vandalized on Jan. 29 while parked at Massie’s Comer. Mr. Breeden reported that a window was broken in his truck, but did not report anything missing.
Jeannie Jenkins of Route 645, Amissville, reported that a gas grill was stolen from her yard. The case is still under investigation, according to Major Rick MacWelch of the Sheriffs Office.
An aggravated assault case and an alleged assault and batter case are both being investigated by Major MacWelch. Victims in the cases have yet to decide whether to press charges.
A summons was written on Jan. 29 for an RCHS student under the age of 18 for possession of tobacco.
Kirk Campbell, who has property on Piedmont Street in Washington, reported last Friday that a VCR, stereo and television were taken from his house. The burglary is under investigation, according,to Major MacWelch.
