He said VDOT will also place a high priority on clearing out driveways to the county’s fire stations and the road as far as the Castleton Community Fire Department, Mr. Marangoni reported. He said it will be necessary to explain to people why the clearing will only go to1 the fire department and not continue for the rest of the road.

He said he found VDOT “very cooperative and willing to do everything to meet our needs.”

He said VDOT will also include a request for a snowblower in next year’s budget, but that costs about $200,000.

The supervisors approved the new secondary road improvements plan.

In other action the Board of Supervisors:

• Agreed to charge $200 for a copy of the book of maps for E-911. There are 120 maps in the book.

• Learned that a maple tree in the courthouse yard has died and will have to be removed.

• Postponed for another month appointing someone to replace John Borgens on the Social Services Board.

• Approved a resolution to advertise changes to the subdivision ordinance to require that testing of wells for adequate water last 48 hours instead of 12 and that the amendments apply to a subdivision of five lots any one of which is five acres or less.

• Thanked John McCarthy for his work on location during the fire at the landfill.
