Land Use Assessments Applications for revalidation of land use assessments have been mailed out by the Commissioner of Revenue's Office and must be returned by Nov. 1. The office is also accepting new applications for land use taxation. For information or answers to questions call the office at 675-3513.

Unemployment According to the Virginia Employment Commission the county's unemployment rate was only 2.6 percent during August. Out of a labor force of 4,411 people, 4,297 were employed and 114 were unemployed. This compares with a 3.7 unemployment rate in August 1995.
