Open House AtA.V.F.D.

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have an open house Sunday, Oct. 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. to celebrate Fire Prevention Week. There will be displays, equipment, free refreshments and much more. For information call Sheila Scott at 937-4357 or the fire hall at 937-5125.

RLEP Annual Meeting

The annual RLEP meeting will be held 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1 at the Sperryville fire hall and is free to the public. The meeting is an opportunity to become directly involved with the planning of our county's future. We will implement techniques taught by international traffic planner Ian Lockwood on how to design the "Village Concept" of our choice for Flint Hill, Amissville, Woodville and Sperryville. Please come and share in this enjoyable and vital process for the future.

Girls Sports Clinic Planned

Girls in 4th, 3th, 6th, and 7th grade are invited to attend an All Girls Sports Clinic on October 12 and 13. The clinic is to introduce to younger girls the different women's sports offered at the high school. It will be held at Rappahannock County High School, starting at 9 a.m. This is a Girl Scout Gold Award Project organized by Kylene Wolfe, so there is no fee. Call 547-3203 for more information.

Hike Scheduled

Beekeepers To Meet

The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its October meeting at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 17 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building, at the comer of South West Street and Davis Street. The program will be: Final preparations for wintering colonies, along with preparing equipment for winter storage. All are welcome: prospective beekeepers, new beekeepers and experienced beekkeepers. Book Fair To Begin

Rappahannock County Elementary School Library is hosting the Scholastic Books on Tour beginning TUesday, October 15 and going through Monday, October 21. The fair will open each school day from 8:15 a.m. until 4 p.m., and from 8:15 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 17 during the Parent-Teacher Conference.
