For the month of October June Jordan is displaying landscape paintings at the library. The oil on paper paintings are from spring and summer painting trips to Edisto, South Carolina, and New Brunswick, Canada.
Ms. Jordan's work continues to reveal her enjoyment of color and brushwork as well as her commitment to painting. Her compositions are often formed from a cohesive structure of trees and tree limbs framing the distance and creating a pattern of interesting shapes.
A very sophisticated example of this is "Jungle Road Lot." Her involvement in this painting is easily felt and although the patterning is very strong, she has overcome any flatness by a sensitive development of the light throughout the painting.
