The Rappahannock Farmers' Association and Virginia Cooperative Extension sponsored a Summer Forage Field Day Aug. 16 at Manor Farm.
Approximately 40 people attended the field day hosted by the management team of Monira Rifaat and K.P. Grigsby. Mrs. Rifaat led the discussion of several grazing management strategies she employs on Manor Farm. These strategies included rotational grazing schedules, water supply systems, stockpiling fescue for winter grazing, and the use of permanent and temporary fencing to improve grazing
