"Mrs. Corbin kept telling me that all I had to do was start keeping a log of the activities I was already involved with," said Allison. "Last year I was doing lighting for various plays, playing soccer, swimming on a swim team, taking classes to be a soccer referee, and getting certification to be an Emergency Medical Technician on the rescue squad.
"Unfortunately none of that stuff counts, since I didn't register with the program until now. I've got to start earning my hours from scratch," she said.
Allison is going for the silver medal, which requires participants to be 16 years old and to complete 200 hours of volunteer work, 100 hours of personal development, 100 hours of physical fitness, and 20 expedition hours.
