William Dawson William Thomas Dawson, 93, of Linden, died Thursday, October 3 at Warren Memorial Hospital. The funeral was conducted Sunday, October 6 at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Elizabeth Redding. Burial was in Linden Cemetery. Mr. Dawson was bom January 19, 1903, in Rappahannock County, son of the late James H. and Laura Chadwell Dawson. He was a member of Linden United Methodist Church. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Ida Elkins Dawson. Surviving are five sons, John W. Dawson and Archie T. Dawson, both of Linden, Albert A. Dawson and Earl O. Dawson, both of Front Royal and Paul A. Dawson of Bentonville; three daughters, Lola Jenkins of Front Royal, Paula M. Dawson of Linden and Beryl A. Scroggins of Buckton; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Alex Rector, Gilbert Mills, Frank Ralls, John Pickrell, Ronnie Williams and Lawrence Chadwell. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Heflin, Lynn Heflin, James Megeath and Steve Showers.
