Safety Course Planned
A Hunter's Safety Course will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct 26 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct 27 at the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department The course is a 10 hour course and everyone must attend both days.
Anyone between the ages of 12 to 15 that has not taken the course is required to take it There is no preregistration. For more information call the Sheriffs Office at 675-3331.
Rappahannock Quintet
The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will present a concert by the county's own Rappahannock Quintet on Saturday, October 12 at 8 p.m. at the Ki Theatre. The Quintet features Beth Levick on harp and vocals, Lyt Wood on the hammered dulcimer, Kathy Tester on the flute, Scott Tester on the violin, and Judy Engen on the cello. Tickets are $10 ($5 for students) and are available at Mountainside Market in Sperryville or by calling 675-1616.
Halloween Party Set
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a Halloween party at 6:30 pirn. Sunday, October 27 at the fire hall. For more information contact Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
Benefit Bake Safe Planned
Boy Scout Troop 200 will be having a bake sale in front of the Flint Hill Post Office from 8:30-12 noon on Saturday,’October 12. All proceeds will go towards Chris Grave's Eagle project of refurbishing the Flint Hill Fire Hall kitchen and bathrooms. Donations will also be accepted. Baked goods include homemade bread, rolls, cakes, pies and cookies would be appreciated. . .
EMT-B Class To Begin
There will be a EMT-B class beginning Oct 9 at the Sperryville Rescue Squad Building. For mine information or to enroll call 825-6849.
u Fun Day Planned
A family fun day will be held at the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department beginning at 10 am. on Sunday, October 20.
The event will feature an open house, a film on wood stove safety, bake sale, cider, yard sale, crafts and lots of other fun filled activities. Pony rides will be available for children for a token which will obtained just by touring the new ambulance. Silent Auction Scheduled
On Thursday, Oct. 17 from 3 to 8 p.m. the staff of the Rapport, the RCHS newspaper, will be sponsoring a silent auction. They hope to raise necessary funds for their publication. The students are hoping for support from the Rappahannock community as well as from parents coming for Parent-Teacher conferences.
