and John Howard Sanden and has been a professional artist for over 22 years. He taught pastel painting at The Art League School and is currently represented by Portraits Inc., Portraits South, and other notable galleries.
He has painted oil portraits of Secretaries of State James Baker and Lawrence Eagleburger, Shirley MacLaine and individuals in the business, educational, and private communities. In addition, he has illustrated two children's books: The Matzah That Papa Brought Home and The Blue and The Gray (to be published this November).
The Art League School of Alexandria in cooperation with Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio will sponsor the Portrait Painting workshop which will be held at Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio located in Slate Mills. It will begin Friday evening (Oct. 11) at 7:30 p.m. with a pastel portrait demonstration and will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the following five days. An oil portrait demo will be presented on Saturday.
The workshop fee is $260. Daily lunch and beverages will be provided. Models fees are extra. Participation is limited.
